There are at least 4 ongoing randomized controlled trials evaluating the use of BCG vaccine in a population at high risk of contracting COVID-19, particularly healthcare workers. Preliminary studies provide evidence of very low certainty. The risks of using the vaccine in this setting are low as are the costs. However, the factors against it is that the evidence is uncertain therefore the benefits as well.
