Unless a patient is at increased risk of prostate cancer because of race or family history, PSA testing does not necessarily lead to a longer life. Any asymptomatic man, aged 50 and over can make an appointment with their GP to discuss having the PSA test. GPs should not proactively raise the issue with asymptomatic men. Prolonged convulsive seizures are seizures that continue for more than 2 minutes longer than a person's usual seizure and should be treated as a medical emergency. Buccal midazolam and lorazepam have been found to be more efective in the treatment of prolonged seizures than intravenous or rectal diazepam in children and young people.
